Starting again... again.

Man I suck at this!

While I've been making better food choices and actually working out, I've been eating way too much.

In fact, when I stepped on the scale today, I was the same as last week. Grrr! I am weighing at night, not in the morning, but still. Grrrrr!

I'm back to counting points starting tomorrow.

1/20/09

Breakfast: 3/4 of a 1/2 cup serving of oatmeal (2), 1/2 a non fat s/f latte w/ 12 ozs milk (2) (20 points left)
Lunch: 1 string cheese (2), rice cakes (3), coke zero (5 points, 15 left)


So, I had my yearly female dr's appt today. I almost threw up when I saw the weight - more than I started at. So, I'm hoping that scale is different than the one I weigh on. As I talked with the NP, I quickly came to realize that I'm not crazy in thinking that I can't handle everything that's going on. She suggested that we go see a financial planner to make sure that we're getting the most bang for our buck in our efforts to be debt free because me working 6 part time jobs is ridiculous. She also greatly encouraged me to go back on anti-depressents. This was not the news I wanted. I was hoping she'd say that this is a normal reaction to the stress of life and that I should exercise more, etc. Knowing that my bout of depression was triggered by an extremely stressful situation, and I'm so incredibly stressed out now, it was very obvious that it's time. This makes me sad, but I'm hoping I can feel like myself soon. She also wants me to get tests done because she's worried about hormone levels, etc because of bad my periods are. She couldn't believe that I was still having periods every month that cause me to go through a tampon an hour for over a day.

Progress, I guess.

Weekend in Vegas

So, I didn't do great, but I at least put some thought into what I was eating.

Friday:
Good until we left
Dinner at the airport: turkey sandwich on whole wheat, no mayo, baked chips and diet coke
At hotel that night: bar (only 2 points)

Saturday:
Breakfast: Egg wrap with egg, a little cheese, veggies, hold the sausage and an apple, non-fat, sugar free latte
Lunch: Mexican Salad w/steak, veggies, hold the cheese, chips, sour cream, and guac.
Snack: Coke Zero, baked chips
Then I fell off the wagon...
Dinner: (Ugh) bread (I was starving at this point) salad with light dressing, chicken, pasta, and steamed veggies and two beers
Dessert: very small portion of ice cream
Drinks: 2 gin and tonics
Late night snack: artichoke and spinach dip with tortilla chips.

Sunday:
Breakfast: Egg wrap, non-fat sugar free latte
Snack: baked chips
Dinner: Home made chili, 1 corn bread muffin.

Now to undo the damage...

Breakfast: Oatmeal and coffee (2 points = 22 left)
Snack: Latte (3), cheese (2), muffin (1) (6 points = 16 left)
Lunch: Burrito (4) freeze dried apples (0) (4 points = 12 left)
Snack: Bar (2points = 10)
Dinner: Chicken Pot Pie & Cheesy Mac (probably at least the rest of my points)
Snack: Fudgebar (2) rice cakes (1)

I didn't really exercise today, but I taught swim lessons for 3 hours, which means I'm swimming laps with the kids for 3 hours. Does that count for something?

8:15 grab breakfast at Starbucks (low-fat sandwich, less than half a latte = 7 + 1 = 16 pts left - OUCH!)
8:45 - 9:45 interview
10:00 pick up the girls
11:00 get back home & feed the girls
12:00 snack (2 rice cakes = 1 pt = 15 pts left)
1:00 get the girls down for naps
1:45 - 3:00 workout (exercise tapes/practicing class 4 pts = 19 pts left)
3:10: lunch (string cheese,2 pts/yogurt = 2 pts/rice cakes = 1 pt, 5 pts= 14 left)
5:30 dinner (cheese burger soup = 8 pts (ouch), salad = 0, dressing = 1, 5 left)
8:00 snack/baking (banana muffins (3) = 3 points, 2 left

It's always hard to be good on one of my traveling days.

5:15 am: wake up
6:00 am: coffee (0 points)
7:30 am: breakfast in the car on the way to the job (chex, 3 points = 21 left)
9:00 am: sugar free latte (3 points = 18 left)
12:00 am: still in meeting, but starving (a few pieces of popcorn, 1 point = 17 left)
12:30 pm: lunch, but way too hungry (huge salad w/lite dressing, cup of white bean chicken chili, probably 8 points-ish = 9 left)
4:30 pm: snack (yogurt: 2 points, pretzels, 1 point, cheese: 2 points = 4 left)
8:00 pm: dinner (chicken pot pie = 5 points)

ONE OVER. UGH!

Good, bad, indifferent. Here is my day:

7:30 - wake up
8:00 - Breakfast: coffee, 1/2 cup oatmeal (2 points, 22 left)
9:00 - 10:00 Cycling class (high intensity for 40 minutes = 6 pts, 28 left)
11:00 - 12:00 run errands
12:00 - 1:00 girls eat lunch
2 spoonfuls of chocolate chip cookie dough. Oops!!! (probably - 6 pts, 22 left)
2:00 snack while doing dishes: rice cakes (2 points, 20 left)
2:30 - lunch (soda, w.w. tortilla, refried beans, cheese, salsa, 4 points, 18 left)
6:00 - snack (bar, 2 points, 16 left)
8:30 - dinner (cheesy macaroni, mixed veggies, salad, 7 points, 9 points left)
