Asking all those experienced Mamas for advice!

So, I feel like I'm driving everyone nuts with all my questions, so I thought I'd put them on there where people have the option of reading them instead of forcing them to read them on the board. :)

I'm discovering there is more that I don't know now than when I first had her. At least when she was born the books were more help. Now they get so wishy-washy that they are useless!

1. Jana loved a bunch of finger foods until this last weekend. Now she'll only eat Cheerios and bananas. Is that normal? Am I supposed to keep giving her other foods? Should I stick with the same foods or should I change it up and try a variety. We're only giving her things she's eaten in baby food form, but should I try one for a while and then try another?

2. She has suddenly started crying. What the heck? Today she was crawling around the kitchen following me as I was packing up her lunch (my inlaws watched her for a few hours that I worked), crying and yelling at me. She had these big old tears running down her face, but there was no way I could be her stuff ready and hold her. (She only took a 45 min nap instead of her usual 2 hour, so I was caught off guard). Why has she suddenly started crying?

3. Sippy cups. My nemesis at the moment. We've been trying since she was about 7 months old. She won't suck on then and then jumps when they pour into her mouth. She'll tolerate a few sips of juice/water, but then she's done. I can't even imagine trying to give her formula in one. Any suggestions?

4. To sleep or not to sleep: that is the method of torture for mommy. She's now refusing to nap at some point in the day almost daily. She's exhausted, I know this. But, if I put her down too early, she cries because she doesn't want to be there and if I wait too long, she has a total melt down and won't nap because she's crying too hard.

5. The dog. My dog has started being so obnoxious. She walks over Jana, knocks her over, licks her to death, and barks at everything. She is driving me crazy and seems to be getting more and more obnoxious as time goes on. We don't want to just put her outside, but at the same time, I'm starting to really not like her so much right now.

Food: normal! Adam went through a Cheerios and blueberry phase. I just kept trying a variety of foods each day (crackers, tofu, etc) now he's fine again

Crying and sleep: I think they are related. Is she on one nap or two? When Ad dropped to one nap it was hard for about 3-4 weeks. Some days he'd only nap 45 min and that's it, other days 4 hours. It's frustrating but she'll figure it out soon. Adam was crying because he was so over tired. Never ending cycle it feels like.

Sippy Cup: Adam didn't get it for a long time. My cure: Nuby cups - have you tried them? They are soft spout like a nipple on a bottle - works much better. I also discovered that Adam uses a straw pretty good too so you can try that too.

The dog: Austin still knocks over Adam. I think because they are more mobile the dog thinks he's a playmate now but the baby isn't ready for that yet. It'll get better.

Hope this helps! Email me if you need anything else!!

Big hugs!
